Christiana Lovelace shared a heartwarming video reminding her 9-year-old silver Labrador Beau that he is no longer paralyzed.

According to Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine, IVDD is a prevalent cause of back pain in dogs, affecting not only older dogs but also younger ones of certain breeds predisposed to the condition. The severity and nature of disc injury can vary greatly, ranging from mild discomfort to paralysis.

In an interview with Newsweek published on Monday (April 15), Christiana explained that she “suffered a ruptured disc in her lower back in the fall of 2022.”

She said: “She then had another one in her neck on the day of the surgery and then another one in her neck at some point during her recovery.”

Her fracture left Bo unable to move. But her family was determined to give their four-legged friend the best possible care and support, so they turned to their veterinarian for advice.

They reportedly explored various methods, including rehabilitation and acupuncture, until they found a breakthrough with steroid treatment.

This marked a turning point in Beau’s journey, as he started regaining the ability to walk about two months ago, Digital News Publishing reported.

“He really forgets about it,” Christiana told Newsweek about the viral TikTok.

“It’s like he woke up in a different bed on vacation.”

Bo prognosis was initially worrisome, but his family never gave up on him.

“The doctors advised us several times to say goodbye, or at least to stop spending money on him,” Christiana recalled.

“My husband built a car for Bo to sit in and play and rehab.”
